Tarangire, Central Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater

The route avoids backtracking and keeps the final morning available for an early crater descent.

Day 1

Arusha or Moshi to Tarangire National Park

Enter Tarangire with your private guide and follow the river through ancient baobab woodland. Elephant herds, giraffes, buffalo, antelope and predator territory make this a powerful opening to your safari.

Day 2

Karatu to Central Serengeti

Cross the Ngorongoro highlands and enter the vast Serengeti. The afternoon unfolds across open plains and river valleys as your guide tracks wildlife towards the central region, celebrated for lions, cheetahs, leopards and grazing herds.

Day 3

Serengeti game drive and Ngorongoro highlands

Return to the plains while the morning is cool and wildlife is active. Your guide follows fresh information, animal movement and road conditions to choose the most rewarding area before the journey into the Ngorongoro highlands.

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater and return

Descend early into Ngorongoro Crater, where grassland, forest and wetlands support an extraordinary variety of wildlife within the ancient caldera. Explore with your private guide, enjoy a picnic lunch and return to Arusha, Moshi or the airport.

Is four days enough for Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro?

Yes, when you are comfortable with an active route. Five days is better when you want a complete day in Central Serengeti.

How many nights are spent in Serengeti?

This itinerary includes one night in Central Serengeti and one night in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area after the Serengeti game drive.

Can we start this safari from Moshi?

Yes. A Moshi start requires an earlier departure. We can also collect you in Arusha or at Kilimanjaro International Airport when flight times allow.

Does the displayed price include the crater drive?

Yes. The listed price includes the Ngorongoro Crater service fee and the park and conservation fees used by this itinerary.
