Great Migration Safari – Private Only Experience

The Great Wildebeest Migration is one of the most extraordinary wildlife spectacles on Earth. Each year, more than two million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move across the Serengeti ecosystem in search of fresh grazing land, closely followed by predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, and crocodiles.

Our Great Migration Safari (Private Only) is carefully designed for travelers seeking an exclusive, flexible, and deeply personal safari experience in Tanzania, guided by expert local professionals with intimate knowledge of migration routes and wildlife behavior.

Why Choose a Private Great Migration Safari

A private safari offers unmatched freedom, comfort, and control over your experience. You enjoy a private 4x4 safari vehicle, a professional and dedicated guide, flexible daily schedules, personalized game drives, unhurried wildlife viewing, photography-focused stops, and complete privacy throughout your journey. This experience is ideal for couples, families, honeymooners, photographers, and travelers who value exclusivity.

Best Time to Experience the Great Migration

The Great Migration is a year-round natural event that moves through different regions of the Serengeti ecosystem. From January to March, the calving season takes place in the southern Serengeti and Ndutu area. Between April and June, the herds move north through the central Serengeti. From July to October, the famous Mara River crossings occur in the northern Serengeti, while from November to December the herds gradually return south toward the Ndutu plains.

Our local guides track wildlife movements in real time to ensure you are always in the right place at the right moment.

Safari Locations

Your private Great Migration Safari primarily takes place in Serengeti National Park, covering the southern, central, and northern regions, as well as the Ndutu Conservation Area. Depending on your preferences, the safari can be extended to include Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, or Lake Manyara National Park.

Accommodation options range from luxury lodges to exclusive mobile tented camps strategically positioned near migration routes for optimal wildlife viewing.

What to Expect on a Private Migration Safari

Each day on safari is thoughtfully planned yet flexible, allowing early morning and afternoon game drives, close encounters with massive migrating herds, frequent sightings of big cats and other predators, scenic picnic lunches in the wilderness, and breathtaking sunsets over the Serengeti plains. Your guide adapts each game drive to your interests, whether you are focused on photography, wildlife behavior, or relaxed exploration.
