5 Days Western Corridor Safari - Serengeti, Grumeti and Ngorongoro Crater

ARRIVAL  DAY

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to Tulia Boutique Hotel for dinner and overnight. Relax and prepare for your safari adventure.

DAY 1  ARUSHA  TO  CENTRAL  SERENGETI  

Depart after breakfast and drive through the scenic landscapes towards Serengeti National Park via Tarangire National Park.  The Central Serengeti is famous for its endless rolling plains, abundant wildlife, and the dramatic spectacle of the Great Migration. This area serves as a key corridor for wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle herds moving between the southern calving grounds and the northern Serengeti during the migration season December to July.

Enjoy a game drive among ancient Baobab trees and spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife. Stop for a picnic lunch en route and continue the drive to Ndutu area in the southern Serengeti region.   The Ndutu plains are famous for the wildebeest calving season December, April and rich predator activity.

DAY 2: WESTERN SERENGETI  TO  GRUMETI RIVER

Explore the Western Corridor of the Serengeti, including the Grumeti River, known for its wildlife crossings and abundant game. The Western Serengeti, particularly around the Grumeti River is famous for its rich wildlife and dramatic scenes of the Great Migration. This region acts as a vital passage where large herds of wildebeest and zebra gather and attempt to cross the river, attracting powerful predators like crocodiles, lions, and hyenas. With its lush riverine forests and open plains 

Western Corridor offers exceptional game viewing and a more secluded safari experience compared to other parts of the Serengeti. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, spotting lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, and other savannah wildlife. Picnic lunch in the park and continue with game viewing across the endless plains.

DAY 3: WESTERN SEREGETI  FULL DAY GAME DRIVE

Western Serengeti is also famous for its lush riverine landscapes and diverse habitats, which differ from the open plains of other Serengeti regions. The presence of the Grumeti River supports year round wildlife, including large elephant herds, buffalo, and a high concentration of predators.Spend a full day discovering the Western Serengeti ecosystem. 

The park’s vast grasslands, kopjes (granite rock formations), and rivers create ideal habitats for the Big Five and migratory herds. Capture wildlife encounters and breathtaking landscapes while enjoying morning and afternoon game drives.

DAY 4 : SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

After an early breakfast and optional morning game drive, depart for the Ngorongoro Crater Rim. The drive takes you through scenic savannah plains and rolling highlands, with chances to spot wildlife along the way. As you ascend, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes and the vast crater below. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge or tented camp, where you can relax and take in the cool highland atmosphere. End the day with a delicious dinner and a peaceful overnight stay, preparing for the next day’s exciting crater exploration.

DAY 5 : NGORONGORO CRATER  GAME DRIVE AND RETURN ARUSHA

Start early and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera. Enjoy a full day of game viewing in this unique ecosystem, spotting lions, elephants, rhinos, hippos, cheetahs, and abundant birdlife. Picnic lunch within the crater, then ascend to the rim for the return drive to Arusha.
