Day by day itinerary

Two nights in Serengeti between Tarangire and Ngorongoro

The route gives Central Serengeti a full day and places you close to the crater for the final morning.

Day 1

Arusha or Moshi to Tarangire National Park

Meet your private guide and enter a landscape of towering baobabs, winding river habitat and vast elephant country. Follow the day's wildlife activity through Tarangire before continuing to Karatu.

Day 2

Karatu to Central Serengeti

Cross the Ngorongoro highlands and watch the horizon widen as you enter Serengeti. Game viewing begins on the plains, with stops around grazing herds, predators and the day's most interesting wildlife activity as you travel toward the central region.

Day 3

Full day in Central Serengeti

Wake in the heart of the Serengeti and give the day to its kopjes, river valleys and open grassland. Your guide tracks lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and resident plains game, with the freedom to stay where the action is strongest.

Day 4

Serengeti game drive and Ngorongoro highlands

Use the cooler morning hours for one more drive across Serengeti's plains, river valleys and kopjes. Your guide follows the day's activity before the route rises into the Ngorongoro highlands for a restful final night.

Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater and return

Enter the crater early and explore a remarkable concentration of habitats and wildlife with your private guide. Lions, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and black rhino inhabit this vast caldera. After a picnic lunch, return to Arusha, Moshi or your agreed drop off point.

Yes. Four safari nights and the meals listed for each day are included in the displayed midrange price.

Are hotel nights before and after the safari included?

No. The five days are actual safari days. Pre safari and post safari hotel nights can be added when required.
